PETs Are Our Friend

Fanatastic News! My PET Scan came back 100% squeaky clean. There is absolutely no evidence that the cancer has spread to any other part of my body. Furthermore, Dr. Wheeler said it was one of the clearest PET Scans he has ever seen. The image of my tumor is perfectly outlined for him. This helps because he needs a clear picture of the tumor in order to get good measurements and continue his radiation plan.

I know this gives all of us an even greater sense of peace. Moreover, it is important to me because it tells me that I really can trust my gut instincts and my heart. I never sweat this scan at all (and somebody should ask Karl about how annoying I was when I was sweating the biopsy) ... I feel like a little voice was telling me this was going to be okay.

what great news!!! I truly believe that so many prayers said about this PET scan were answered - and it's about stinkin time you got some news.

I was watching "Annie" tonight with Jordan and so wishing you were with us to sing the songs with her - instead of the agony she must endure with my singing. I told her you had tried to teach me how sing, then realized it was a lost cause...
since it didn't work with me, maybe you can teach my little girl?

Love you!

How great! I keep checking everyday to see how you are doing. Thanks for taking the time to update us. Thank goodness you are an English teacher...a math teacher would never spend the time to write everyday...although I think this is two out of three for me : )

Wonderful EMHS Students~

A few things I'd like to comment on in particular to you all. . .

1) Thank you SO much for doing that for Ash's prom gift. That was so sweet of all of you and it meant a lot to her!!! =)

2) Ashli truly DOES deserve this Excellence in Education Award. Thanks to all of you who wrote in letters etc.

3) About this horrific Sub Teacher: Let's face the facts: NO Substitute is capable of being as witty, funny, hilarious & sarcastic as my sister. That said, this guy is like a lamb thrown to the wolves with you all!

I realize that for many of you, losing Ashli as your teacher meant you lost MUCH more than a teacher. However, for the sake of your grades and for Ashli's sanity, I would urge all of you to at least ATTEMPT to take on a new attitude about this guy:
A) Consider the gender & age gap. . .there is no POSSIBLE way he could explain things the way Ashli does, b/c of those differences.
B) He is trying to replace one of THE MOST LOVED teachers ever! Those are some big shoes to fill, especially when all the students are already miserable b/c their Miss Hepler is gone.
C) Give hate, get hate. Give encouragement, get encouragement. If I've learned nothing else in my 28 years, I have learned that an ounce of encouragement can do wonders for the human psyche. A few of you should take the time to write him and at least explain that you truly LOVED Miss Hepler, but that you understand it is hard for him to replace her and that you will do your best to make it easier for him. If you can stomache it, you might even throw in a "You're doing a good job!" Who knows, maybe his attitude will start to improve and learning will slowly become fun again. . .not Miss Hepler fun, but Mr. Substitute fun?!?! It's worth a shot, don't you think?

Your mom called me last nite to tell me the good news, but even better to read it in more detail. Let's continue to think positive and keep the good news coming.
Alysia - Good advice.

PETs are amazing! I have complete confidence that the good news is just going to keep coming. I know this because you are such a strong, beautifully gifted person that God is going to bless and continue to use through this journey. I cannot tell you how thankful I am that you are taking a vacation in a few weeks. Hawaii will be unreal but a simple fact remains, nothing beats 'cali cali.' We are gonna have a blast! Can't wait.

J- You've got to sign it! Send me a sweet pic of you and Krissy so I can post it and my freshmen girls will be putty in my hands and I can trick them into not flirting with the freshmen boys for one whole period and we will all learn something (besides who has the best booty) for one whole period!

EJ - I can't marry you if I don't know who you are. Can you afford a big diamond so that I can sell it to pay for my radiation?
