P.S.

Q: What one personal belonging could I not live without right now -- it would be a total and complete disaster if it malfunctioned at this point?
A: My laptop?

Now guess what one belonging of mine has decided to go caput?

You guessed it!

That ranks right up there with slicing open the arterial vein in my left index finger, bleeding out for four hours, and getting stitches on the inside and outside of my finger (Mind you, I'm left-handed).

Thanks, Patrice. Good analogy with the weights. I like it. Way to be an "Atticus" for the kids.

Hey Ashe,

WOW!!! I've been reading your blog just about every day and have been sooooo inspired by your tenacity to Get Things Done.
Between fighting with Anthem, moving to California, a trip to Hawaii, not to mention all the appointments, and the treatments so far, and the one's coming up, you've done it all. YOUR WAY!!! And remained positive throughout.
It reminds me of a quote I read in a book......"You do not know the depths of your strength until you find yourself in a crisis worthy of it." In reading your blogs I kept thinking "How does she find the strength, both mentally and physically to do all this.?" The answer I came up with is....You just do what you have to do. And a person is alot stronger than they think they are.
Know that you are in my prayers daily.

Ashli,

I just saw you in the office, and didn't get a chance to talk much, but I can tell it's getting tough. hang in there. Since your doctor said that laughter and positive thinking is the best thing and it's hard to find that in the midst of all this, here are some of my favorite "Deep Thoughts" by Jack Handey from SNL that I can count on to bring a little laughter and joy to you:

"I hope if dogs ever take over the world, and they chose a king, they don’t just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas."

"I wish outer space guys would conquer the Earth and make people their pets, because I’d like to have one of those little beds with my name on it."

"To me, boxing is like a ballet, except there’s no music, no choreography, and the dancers hit each other."

"If you're a cowboy and you're dragging a guy behind your horse, I bet it would really make you mad if you looked back and the guy was reading a magazine."

"One thing vampire children have to be taught early on is, don't run with a wooden stake."

"If you're ever shipwrecked on a tropical island and you don't know how to speak the natives' language, just say "Poppy-oomy." I bet it means something."

Hope I made you laugh and got a little revenge for all the times at lunch that you've made me almost pee my pants or spit out my drinks with those Ashley comments that come out of nowhere. If anyone deserves joy right now, it's you. We love you. Hang in there.

Hey Ashli,

Long time no talk. Just wanted to let you know the Lotts have been thinking about you. We check in on a regular basis to get updates with what's going on.

To show my support for you, I just want you to know that I shaved my head. I don't want it to be a big deal, just my way of showing my support.

Wait a minute, you don't lose your hair with radiation. What the heck was I thinking. Oh well, maybe I can borrow some extra hair from one of the guys we went to college with. I won't mention names since I don't know who's reading this, but I'll give you a hint. "Ass-fro"

Oh, and my favorite Jack Handey quote of all time is "If any man says he hates war more than I do, you better have a knife. That's all I've gotta say."

Talk to you soon.

Eric, Lisa, Bryce and Brady.

Ash, Just caught up. I'm wanting to call right now, but worried to add to the chaos (isn't there some proof about too much cell phone use causing cancer? Wouldn't that be an ultimate irony?!?) Worried, however, because of something Alyssa said...what's going on with your ear? Also, want to know about your flight? Etc? I love you so much. Danielle

I know you're traveling now or maybe just arrived (it's Monday am here).
Just wanted to let you know that we are praying for a smooth move and for your time in California. Hope you can get some much needed rest and maybe relax a little.
I love you.
